We Know Products. We Know Manufacturing. We Know China.
Damon Canfield has been actively involved in the evolution of U.S. and Asia business for over three decades. In 1996, he changed NPI's direction to leverage this unique business environment by establishing an organization capable of effectively and efficiently launching and manufacturing products in China. In early 2009, Damon augmented the NPI offering by adding capabilities to assist clients interested in selling their medical device products in China.
Through his leadership, NPI has evolved into a very lean and profitable manufacturing and technical consulting organization consisting of a high level of operational excellence specializing in U.S. directed program launch, Asian sourcing, China contract manufacturing, engineering, and China Medical Market entry consulting. Damon is driven by the conviction that NPI is a "U.S. based company with China manufacturing and market expertise." To support this objective, Damon has established a U.S. based operation with world class, customer facing program management supported by a broad base of execution and delivery-focused talent. NPI's headquarters is in Powell, Ohio, with technical offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, as well as Hong Kong.
Damon brought over twenty years of GE Plastics experience to NPI. At GE Plastics he played key roles in sales, marketing, product development and business management. He has been recognized by Ernst and Young as "Entrepreneur of the Year," achieved company recognition four times by the Fast Fifty, honoring the fastest growing companies in central Ohio, and has been acknowledged by the U.S. Army for exceptional support of employees while on active duty. Damon has been recognized by numerous publications, and recently contributed to the book entitled "Leadership Within Reach", where the proceeds were donated to support childhood diabetes. He actively participates in many local and China associations and alliances such as Bio Ohio, Bio-Enterprise, Medical Device Trade Association of China (MDTA), and the China Medical Device Industry Trade (CMDIT).
Damon holds a BS degree in Chemistry and an MBA from Indiana University.
